The essential role of this position is to:

 

Oversee, manage and direct the safety aspect of the field operations of the project from beginning to end.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, site-specific Health and Safety/Accident Prevention Plan.
  • Supervise and administer safety activities.
  • Participate in progress meetings to present the company safety plan/policies and explain implementation and standards on the project.
  • Conduct employee and subcontractor safety orientation.
  • Conduct accident investigations on the job site and report them.
  • Review, interpret and provide direction and compliance on safety regulations and standards.
  • Monitor company and subcontractor safety performance.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, project audits and safety inspections.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Must have extensive experience in the construction industry with 5+ years as a safety officer.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA Federal, State Health and Safety regulations and reporting procedures.
  • Knowledge of AHA.
  • Knowledge of EM-385.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
