Job Description Abundant Life Baptist Church (Washington, PA) - Youth Pastor The Big Picture Abundant Life Baptist Church ( is seeking a Youth Pastor.
Requirements PURPOSE OF Youth Pastor: To introduce, lead and encourage junior high and high school youth (grades 7-12) to have a personal relationship with Christ, discipling them in God's word, and teaching them to reach out in God's love, while equipping and sending them out to minister to the world around them.
JOB SUMMARY: This position will be responsible to the senior pastor for the overall development and implementation of reaching and discipling students of Abundant Life Baptist Church. This position will prepare and teach weekly Bible study for the students. In addition, the youth pastor will plan, organize, and schedule regular outreach events. This position will also be responsible for planning and implementing regular ministry activities.
REPORTING STRUCTURE: This position is a direct report to the senior pastor
DUTIES: •Develop with core leaders a vision for discipling and reaching students for Jesus.
•Coordinate with other church ministries for cooperation.
•Preparing and teaching Sunday morning to the youth group
•Planning and implementing a mid-week outreach service, aimed at bringing in youth from the community.
•Preparing a lesson for a weekly Bible study with the purpose of sharing the Gospel using issues that students face daily.
•Coordinate a youth missions trip including an effective way of training the students for missions prior to the trip.
•Coordinate monthly/ quarterly outreach events to establish relationships with the youth of the community.
•Organize and distribute a monthly calendar of events to inform students and parents of upcoming events.
•Develop relationships with students and parents.
•Schedule occasional meetings with youth workers to evaluate the group.
•Develop Youth program budget.
•Other responsibilities deemed necessary by senior pastor.
WORK HOURS: Four days a week: 8:30am to 4:00pm
•Out of office meeting students
•Attending school functions
In addition to the work week hours the youth pastor will attend the
following:
•Sunday morning youth gathering
•Sunday morning church service
•Various Sunday evening events and ministries
•Mid-week hours event each month following.
•One Friday/Saturday "Big Event" each month
Benefits The Compensation Total Package: $50,000
