Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) has partnered with a Boston based SEC-registered investment advisor company in their search for a Hedge Fund Accountant. This is a growing multi-family office created to serve affluent individuals and families for over 20 years. Our client employs a long and short fundamental value investment philosophy with a focus on the inefficient small-to-mid capitalization segment of the High Yield Market. Why work here?

Responsibilities of the Hedge Fund Accountant include but are not limited to:

• Monitor and ensure all trades are settled accurately and in a timely manner, coordinating with counterparties and service providers as needed.
• Maintain and update the firm's shadow accounting system daily, ensuring alignment with fund administrator records; collaborate with the Accounting Manager to review and confirm entries.
• Conduct detailed reviews of monthly accounting reports and investor statements prepared by the fund administrator, ensuring accuracy and consistency before they are distributed to investors.
• Assist with daily cash flow tracking and reporting, ensuring accurate reconciliation across accounts.
• Support operational processes related to trade lifecycle, including settlement, corporate actions, and account reconciliations.
• Provide operational and accounting support to portfolio managers and investor relations as required.

Background expectations of the Hedge Fund Accountant:

• 1-3 years of experience in trade operations, accounting, or a related field; experience in the hedge fund or financial services industry is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with shadow accounting systems or financial software is a bonus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
