Dental Assisting Substitute Instructor

Location: Lehi, UT

Status: Part-time

Hours: Varied

Pay/Salary: $24.09 hourly

Summary

As a Dental Assisting Substitute Instructor, you will step in to provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular instructor. Your responsibilities will include following lesson plans, leading classroom discussions, demonstrating practical skills, and fostering student engagement and inquiry. Travel between campuses is required.

What You’ll Do:

Responsibilities of the Dental Assistant Substitute Instructor include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver effective instruction and facilitate student learning aligned with program objectives.
• Review and implement prepared lesson plans.
• Actively engage students throughout the entire scheduled class period.
• Provide clear instructions and ensure students understand the lesson material.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a focused learning environment.
• Accurately record student attendance.
• Create and sustain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning atmosphere.
• Emphasize and enforce safety as an integral part of daily skill practice.
• Supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in lab, clinical, externship, or other work-based learning settings as required.
• Assess student learning outcomes, guided by course objectives.
• Adhere to and uphold school policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program with a certificate of completion.
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience working in the Dental Assisting field.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.
• DANB National Certification as a Certified Dental Assistant is CDA preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word) and Google Suite tools (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to manage diverse responsibilities effectively.
