As a Captain Hook Driver, you will drive a commercial vehicle and operate a hook lift system to provide safe, prompt, courteous and complete roll-off services for commercial and residential customers. You will also transport solid waste to disposal sites in and around the Austin, TX area.
Our drivers must know the equipment inside and out so that they can support the company in maintaining the vehicles, dumpsters, and hook lift system in optimal condition. You will be responsible for completing pre-trip inspection including, but not limited to, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls, and reporting vehicle deficiencies before placing vehicle into service.
You will be required to drive the vehicle safely to and from customer locations and disposal areas, and operate hydraulic equipment to load and offload containers, and dump material at the designated facility.
You will operate from route sheet to determine daily schedule and service each customer as identified on the route sheet and/or as assigned by dispatcher or supervisor. You will be required to complete required route/productivity sheet, daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) and other forms. Drivers must perform all driver check-in procedures upon returning to the facility at the end of the day.
This is a customer-facing position. You must be able to interact courteously with customers, co-workers, dispatchers and supervisors.
Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Must be able to speak and read English well enough to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official questions, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records.
Must have a valid Class A or B CDL with airbrakes endorsement for the state of Texas.
Must have at least 1 year of previous experience operating a commercial vehicle within the past 7 years.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must have the ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must successfully complete pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen, background and motor vehicle records (MVR) check and Department of Transportation physical.
